SPL2000 AIS-VHF Antenna Splitter The SPL2000 allows the boat's VHF antenna to be used for both an AIS and VHF simultaneously. It uses ZeroLoss technology and is suitable for use with AIS Class B transponder systems as well as AIS receivers. It's also designed as a failsafe device with automatic priority given to the connected VHF. It is supplied with a BNC-BNC patch cable for the AIS and a PL259-PL259 cable for the VHF. The AIS700 from Raymarine is a Class B Automatic Identification System (AIS) transceiver designed for use with Raymarine multifunction navigation display systems.  AIS is an international marine navigation safety system that allows participating vessels to silently exchange key navigation information including vessel name, identification, course, speed and more.  AIS contacts can be displayed on Raymarine multifunction displays, chartplotters, radar displays and select instruments.  As a Class B AIS transceiver, the AIS700 not only receives broadcasts from other vessels, it also transmits your own boat’s information too helping you to be seen on other vessels’ systems. SPL1500 Antenna Splitter VHF/AIS An AIS receiver or transponder requires a VHF antenna, but Digital Yacht’s SPL1500 AIS-VHF antenna splitter allows an existing antenna to be used for both the AIS and VHF (DSC). Unlike most simple splitters, it can also be used with a class B transponder system and it incorporates special circuitry to ensure safe operation of the two transmitting devices. The unit has three simple connections - one input for the main VHF antenna and then outputs for the AIS receiver/transponder and another for the DSC VHF. It utilizes Digital Yacht’s ZeroLoss™ technology, to ensure the very best possible reception and transmission from all devices. Most importantly it is also fail safe, so should the unit ever stop working or lose power, it will not affect the main VHF operation.
