Like a hitch pin and clip, the hitch lock is designed to be inserted into the hole in the side of a receiver tube to hold a ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory in place. It features a pin diameter of 5/8" to fit 2" or 2-1/2" receiver tube openings.
Likewise, CURT coupler locks are designed to add security to the trailer and towing equipment. Instead of merely retaining the coupler latch mechanism, they lock it into place and act as a theft deterrent for a trailer while it is coupled to the vehicle. This coupler lock features a pin diameter of 1/4" and fits any coupler span from 1/2" to 2-1/2".
This set of two locks also includes a universal trailer coupler lock. The universal tri-ball trailer coupler lock is engineered to be the ultimate in-trailer towing security. 8,500lb Disc Brake Actuator – Tie Down Engineering Model
The Model 850E works by the “surge” or “push” of the trailer toward the tow vehicle. This automatically synchronizes the trailer brakes with the tow vehicle axle brakes. When the trailer pushes against the tow vehicle, the actuator telescopes together and applies the force to the master cylinder, supplying hydraulic pressure to the brakes. The built-in dampening shock absorber retards the telescoping shock against the hitch ball. Be sure to comply with the regulations for brakes in your state.
